Changing Directions

After a good amount of consideration, I've decided to take a different direction with things and no longer pursue my artwork as a job. Given changes in circumstances, I have to accept the fact that this is not something I can do. This does not mean that I'm going to stop making art, working on various projects, taking a few rare commissions, or close my Patreon/Ko-Fi, I'm just going to be shifting my focus to finding a sustainable job.

I've struggled with my mental health a lot over the past number of years and as life has gone on, it became harder to see the value in my work, especially when finances were taken into consideration. As my financial needs have grown, I've found that creating art has been more stressful and anxiety inducing than enjoyable, leading to my general inactivity.

While I was happy to try to pursue art as a career and even proud of the success I've had, I want to enjoy creating art again. I've never been a good commercial artist and placing so much of my financial well-being on my art hasn't made me any better. Going forward, I'm going to prioritize making art something I do for my own enjoyment and expression, regardless of failure or success.

As always, thank you for your support and patience through everything. Like I mentioned before, this doesn't mean I'm going to stop drawing or working on my projects, it just means I'm going to be focusing on finding a job and making things here more personal again.
