Possessed: Updates and Goals

After spending much time away from the comic and coming back to it, I realized a number of problems with how I approached the Possessed comic that I'm looking to correct and avoid going forward. Possibly the most obvious problem I intend to address is the lack of comic pages or Possessed themed posts.

Burnout

One of the biggest contributors to the long gap in Possessed content was burnout from self imposed deadlines. I prioritized trying to post consistently every week to maintain 'engagement' on social platforms but I simply could not keep up with such a pace and maintain the level of quality I wanted. Working on the comic became stressful and I began to focus less on telling a good story and more on trying to please my audience.... so I won't be doing that going forward. Going forward, the deciding factor of whether I post or not will be determined based on my current backlog of posts and not any set deadline. Even if I have content availble to post, I simply won't if I'm below my queue's threshold to reduce the stress of falling behind.

Quality

Additionally, I want to focus more on the storytelling and quality of Possessed. As the comic gained traction, I began to push the narrative in a way that focused more on sexual scenes to please my audience. This made the story harder to write as the narrative became less cohesive and interesting to me... and if it's not cohesive or interesting to me, it certainly won't be for my audience! To prevent this from happening again, I won't post new pages unless I have a set number of pages already finished. This will make it more difficult for the story's narrative to be impacted by outside influences since the next pages to be released would already be finished.

Narrative

As the story is written currently, Kiefer's encounter with the poltergeist was the catalyst to a series of consecutive events that would each explore a different fetish interest. While it was a fun idea to try and figure out how to bridge one fetish into the next, it made the narrative and goals of our poltergeist friend very sporadic and unfocused while not allowing enough time to properly explore each interest. Moving forward, I'm going to focus more on Kiefer's relationship with the poltergeist and his friends instead of what fetishes I can cram into the story. Ultimately I find the exploration of the character's relationships to be the most interesting aspect of the story and the more I stray away from that, the less interest I am in writing.

That's pretty much all there is to say regarding Possessed at the moment. I am still working on it to see it through to completion but it was clear after stepping away from it for a while that I needed to change my approach. As always, I'm very grateful for your interest, support, and patience throughout everything.
